The Golden Enlightenment
This painting holds a special place in my journey as an artist.
Created in a rare state of complete immersion, The Golden Enlightenment emerged during a moment of flow — a mental space where thought dissolves and instinct leads. Every layer felt intentional, every stroke guided by clarity rather than doubt.
Unlike most of my works, this piece was envisioned from the very beginning. A restrained palette of prussian blue, emerald green, payne’s grey, titanium white, and copper was carefully chosen to create depth without distraction. Layer upon layer was built to achieve an aged, almost time-worn texture.
Gold leaf was introduced as a quiet symbol of enlightenment — not as ornamentation, but as illumination. The copper accents interact beautifully against the cool blues and greens, adding warmth and dimension without overpowering the serenity of the form.
The result is a Buddha that feels both ancient and alive — grounded in stillness, yet radiant from within.
