The Night That Glows is both a landscape and a longing.

Inspired by the northern lights — something I dream of witnessing one day — this painting captures a sky alive with movement and colour. Waves of green, teal, and violet sweep across the night, illuminating snow-covered mountains and still waters below. The aurora does not dominate; it embraces the scene.

What grounds this celestial spectacle is the warmth of the cottages. Soft golden lights glow from within, creating a contrast between vast wilderness and intimate shelter. The wooden bridge in the foreground gently draws the viewer inward, as if inviting you to walk toward that warmth.

There is homeliness here. Despite the grandeur of the mountain and the drama of the sky, the painting feels safe. It carries the comfort of light in darkness — the reassurance that even under expansive skies, there is a place that holds you.
