About the Work
Water has always drawn me back.
There is something about a stormy sea — its movement, unpredictability, and depth — that feels endlessly compelling. I have revisited this subject many times, but this was the first. The beginning.
For me, this painting represents struggle. Not the chaos itself, but the resilience required to move through it. The ship is small, almost vulnerable, yet it continues forward. The storm does not pause. Neither does it.
Perhaps that is why I return to this subject again and again — the sea mirrors something deeply human.
