About the Work
This work explores the Buddha not as distant divinity, but as an inner journey.
The layered washes of deep teal, muted rose, and shadowed undertones create a sense of movement across the surface — as though the face is emerging through experience rather than resting in stillness. Drips, splatters, and textured brushwork introduce imperfection, giving the piece an intentionally raw presence.
For me, this painting represents struggle — and more importantly, awareness through struggle. It speaks to the process of confronting oneself, navigating uncertainty, and slowly cultivating clarity.
The calm expression does not deny difficulty. It acknowledges it.
Stillness here is earned.
This Buddha reflects resilience shaped by experience — a quiet strength that comes from understanding oneself more deeply.
